“For the first time, our family has a health tradition that we do together every year, across three generations.”

(Erline – 5K Participant)

“Since Gospel Run, I’ve lost 28 pounds.  My goal is to lose 80.  My husband and I have gone off all blood pressure meds.  My goal next year is to run the whole thing.”

(Keisha – First-Timer)

“My life has changed tremendously thanks to Gospel Run.  For me, it has become its own season.  It’s all I think about leading up to race day.”

(Barbara – Team Captain)

About Us

In 2013, we launched a small 5K on the south side of Chicago, and a health movement was born.  Since then, we’ve supported over 100 new run/walk teams, engaged over 75 Gospel Run Health Ambassadors, and inspired thousands of sedentary men, women, and children to get active and believe that change is possible.

Gospel Run is a 501c3 public health organization that connects communities, congregations, and clergy through health programming and breakthrough experiences that inspire people to engage with their health in a new way.

Our bold belief is that health is possible, in spite of where you’re from, where you start, or what you’ve been through.  We connect, support, and inspire our community to live healthier, more active, more powerful lives.

The Need for this Work

The United States has the third largest health gap in the world, and the numbers are moving in the wrong direction.  We believe your race and zip code should not determine your destiny, health outcomes, or life expectancy.

The health epidemic our communities face is so much more than physical.  We challenge our community to step into their power and live into the belief that All Things Are Possible, in health and in life.  We believe that lacing up and walking is one of the easiest steps anyone can take to get started on the journey to health and wellness.  With community and support, they can stay on that road – one step at a time.

Changing Lives – One Step at a Time

Gospel Run is much more than just a race.  For me, it was life transforming.

It was an opportunity to conquer my fears. -April
